Some of the other artists who touched the stage were Da Baby,Griselda,Lil Yachty,Kodak,Chief Keef,Young Thug/Gunna & upcoming artist Beanz who we’ve covered for this segment a few weeks ago on the “Artist To Lookout For” spotlight.

After just starting a podcast together, Royce & Lupe find themselves in the midst of a friendly rap battle. This seems to be solely for the sport of rapping and has no real credence to it besides the fact that both artists feel they’re the best lyrical rappers we have today! This battle is healthy for the state of hip-hop today because it shows you how two lyrical titans can still respect eachother’s talent all while showcasing why they’re great at what they do as well. The chatter started on Instagram live between Mickey Facts,Lupe,Royce & Joe Budden which then translated to Lupe doing a 9 minute off-the-top freestyle on Instagram live that same day directed towards Royce. Royce then responded by getting in the booth and dropping his rebuttle song “Silence Of The Lambda”. Lupe got wind of this & then responded again with an official recording titled “ Steve Jobs SLR 3 1/2” which seemed to be another freestyle off-the-top. At this point today regarding Lupe, the ball is in Royce’s court but Royce has somehow found himself in a battle with Mickey Facts now as well so we’ll see what he does next. Once again, this is all just for the sport. These guys are all friends and have been on Instagram live together since this all transpired breaking down eachother’s diss tracks and skillset in a respectful manner. Other rappers such as King Los,Loaded Lux & Murda Mook have also chimed in on this battle so we can probably expect to see more come from this, In a good way!

ARTIST TO LOOKOUT FOR : R. DOLLAZ

R dollaz, coming out of Upstate, NY (Utica) just dropped his new project titled “All 4 Tha Dolla“. With 10 songs on this project, one of the many standout tracks on here is “Block Rock” featuring and Produced by Rick Hyde of Benny The Butcher’s BSF record label. The production on this song is remnant of the Griselda/BSF sound that hip-hop fans love! R Dollaz brings a gritty, raw, fly, yet complex, feel to the track as one of his opening lines is “ Chain Swingin’ & I paid for this “ followed by a statement made about drug/alcohol addiction plaguing some of the youth in today’s society. That’s a lot of ground to cover before the end of a verse and Dollaz did it in about the first 45 seconds of the song. When your lyrics are based on your reality not only do they come out effortlessly raw,but you’re able to convey several different points within just a few lines. So based on the start of Dollaz’ verse, you already know where this song is taking you and immediately turn it up more to listen closer. Classic underground NY rap music! Then you got Rick, Ricky Hyde is such a weapon for BSF/Griselda because he’s a jack of all trades. When you can produce the song and write the song we have a problem! Rick comes in on the 2nd verse throwing punches immediately, as always! His sword is sharper everytime I hear him rap! Ricks’ verse was bar-filled, witty & the perfect segway to connect the bridge between Dollaz’ first and last verse. Super dope collab! From Utica to Buffalo!
