Snoop Dogg 6/25 @ Rogers Arena - Vancouver
On Tuesday, June 25th, Snoop Dogg wrapped up his Cali to Canada tour at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, BC after touring all throughout the country this past month. With three openers kicking off the show, including local rapper Merkules, fans were up on their feet from the get-go. West Coast rappers DJ Quik and Warren G soon followed, bringing back old-school rap to the Vancouver stage.

With an 11-show run, Mr. D-O-Double-G did not disappoint, appearing on stage in a classic, blue convertible, paired with a video montage to begin his set with a cover of Dr. Dre’s “The Next Episode”. In typical Snoop Dogg fashion, the rapper wore a Snoop Dogg-branded black sweatsuit, paired with a large Death Row Records gold chain around his neck. With a lit joint in his left hand, fans cheered every time the artist took a moment to smoke on stage. A night full of classic ’90s and early 2000s hits, monkey mascots and pole dancers, the Vancouverites showed up for the last night of the tour, filling out the arena—a clear indicator of how iconic this rapper is, as Snoop Dogg also recently toured the previous fall. With a mastery in crowd interaction, Snoop Dogg, born Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., flowed through his set with ease, seamlessly incorporating funny remarks between his tracks. With a beyond-impressive and running career of over 30 years, Snoop’s humility was refreshing, the rapper often pausing to thank the audience for “letting me be me”. Clearly showing love for his Canadian fanbase during this all-Canadian tour, fans returned the love, singing and rapping along, word-for-word to his list of endless hits, making this an excellent night that highlighted Snoop Dogg’s legacy as an artist.
