Toronto-based Juno award winning artist TOBi joins THHGURU on the 36th episode of 'The Sit Down' hosted by Alex Henein. On this episode, TOBi talks wining at the Juno Awards, motivation, performing in Ghana, his come up story, starting doing freestyle battling and spoken word poetry, his album PANIC, dealign with betrayal, creative direction, getting co-signs from Jamie Foxx, Snoop Dogg and The Game, and his ‘Don’t Forget To Live’ book!
TOBi talks about the significance of the word “Panic” and why he ended up choosing it for the name of his Juno Award winning album — “If you can get over that I believe you become a stronger person. Because whatever was holding you back where you were panicking, you realize that you can get over it.. That’s what life is about when you learn and make mistakes.”
TOBi says he made music for 10 years without seeing a dime — “I made music for 10 years before I ever got a dime. For me, it’s the love for it, the craft for it, and also.. I know that music is going to be an avenue I can use to do other things.”
