Kali joins THHGURU on the seventeenth episode of ‘The Sit Down’ hosted by Alex Henein. Kali talks touring/performing with Latto and Rolling Loud, the start of her music journey, selling CDs to barber shops and her soccer team, playing soccer before music, auditioning for Rhythm + Flow, her song “Do A Bit*h” and “MMM MMM,” releasing snippets of songs on social media, which social platform she was surprised to go viral on, inspirations growing up, advice she would give her younger self, and more!
Kali talks about the success of her song “MMM MMM” with ATL Jacob going from an idea to a viral success: “It just goes to show not to take stuff so serious, don’t overthink stuff.”
When Kali was 13 years old she made a deal with her step father — release a mixtape and she would have her own room in the house. She then went on to sell the CDs to barbershops and her soccer team in her hometown.
